Laminating Equipment

Faustel offers wet, dry and thermal laminating machines for various industrial and packaging films, foils, papers, non-wovens and pressure sensitive adhesive label applications. Nip pressure is achieved pneumatically or with servo actuators, while the impression is controlled by precision stops or position feedback.

Dry Bond Laminator

The Dry Bond Laminator joins film to film, foil or paper. The process has a short dwell time during bonding, using medium to high temperatures with medium to high nip pressures. Roll heating can be accomplished using water, oil, steam or electricity. An example product would be an adhesive backed paper laminated to silicone coated paper for printer labels.

Wet Bond Laminator

The Wet Bond Laminator joins paper to paper, film or foil. The process has a short dwell time during bonding, using low or ambient temperatures with low to medium pressures. One of the substrates needs to be permeable to allow the water or solvent to evaporate during drying/curing of the coating after lamination. An example product would be a paper substrate laminated to foil used for insulation facing.

Thermal Laminator

The Thermal Laminator bonds film to heat sealable film. The process has a medium dwell time during bonding, using high temperatures with high nip pressures. Roll heating is typically accomplished using oil or electricity. An example product would be metalized film laminated for use in bag-in-box products such as wine.
